Lab Technician

Recruiting on behalf of our client for a Laboratory Technician to join their team on a full-time, 9-month contract based in Saltend, Hull. This is an excellent opportunity within a leading laboratory environment, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to high safety and compliance standards.
  
This role offers the chance to work with a reputable client, managing day-to-day laboratory operations and ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
  
You will be:
  

• Managing hazardous and chemical waste disposal, ensuring frequent collection and compliance
• Overseeing lab chemical stock levels, managing inventory, and processing chemical purchase requests
• Managing gas supply for the lab, ensuring stock levels are maintained and orders placed as needed
• Handling lab consumables and PPE supplies, ensuring availability and ordering additional stock when required
• Operating and maintaining laboratory glassware, including the use of glasswashers
• Supervising third-party engineers servicing lab equipment
• Maintaining housekeeping and HSSE standards across lab areas
• Coordinating the packaging and labelling of hazardous samples for shipment
• Supporting weekly safety checks and raising any issues with safety infrastructure

You will have:
  

• Proven experience in managing hazardous and chemical waste
• Knowledge of chemical inventory management and stock control
• Experience in maintaining housekeeping and HSSE standards in a lab environment
• Familiarity with packaging and labelling hazardous samples for shipment
• Strong awareness of health and safety regulations
