Electrical Technician

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join a critical energy infrastructure terminal located on Teesside.

This is an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of a highly regulated, safety-focused terminal operation within a COMAH-regulated environment. The role is ideal for candidates with strong hands-on experience in hazardous area electrical maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems across the terminal
• Inspecting, testing and fault-finding of Motor Control Centres (MCCs), LV panels and distribution systems,
• Inspecting, testing and fault-finding of motors, lighting, UPS systems, and emergency systems
• Supervising contractors and ensuring compliance with site safety and electrical standards
• Supporting project work and minor modifications to electrical systems
• Ensuring documentation is completed accurately and in line with regulatory expectations
• Conducting electrical isolations in line with LOTO procedures
• Participating in the site’s on-call rota for emergency support

What we're looking for:

• BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or time-served apprenticeship
• COMPEX Units 01–04 certification (essential)
• BS7671 (18th Edition)
• Experience within a petrochemical, chemical, or hazardous industry
• Competency in isolation procedures and safety documentation
• Additional certifications: IPAF 3A & 3B, PASMA, Working at Heights, Asbestos Awareness
