Environmental Permitting Lead
12-month contract (transferring to Permanent in Jan 2027) | Stockton-on-Tees with UK travel | Onboarding and training in mainland Europe
Join a team that’s rethinking how industry uses and reuses water, where your permitting insight helps set new standards for sustainable operation.
We’re seeking an Environmental Permitting Lead to oversee permitting and compliance activity across a portfolio of new industrial water and wastewater treatment projects in the UK.
You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring environmental standards are embedded from the earliest stages of design through to construction and operation. Working closely with engineering and operations teams, as well as external regulators, you’ll help shape responsible and sustainable project delivery.
This position offers the scope to work autonomously while collaborating with an experienced international environmental team. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, develop processes, and see your work translate directly into operational impact.
What you’ll bring
· Experience in environmental permitting or compliance; ideally within the chemical, water, or process sectors.
· A degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or Process/Chemical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
· A confident, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
· The flexibility to adapt and implement new processes as the UK operations continue to grow.
The role begins on a 12-month contract, with the potential to become permanent as UK projects move into operation.
If you’re looking for a role where your expertise genuinely shapes environmental performance and long-term sustainability, we’d like to hear from you.
