Manufacturing & Process Manager Stockton-on-Tees Wolviston Management Services are proud to be supporting our client in the recruitment of an experienced Injection Moulding Manufacturing Manager — a key leadership role driving production performance, process optimisation, and operational excellence within a busy, quality-focused manufacturing environment.
About the Role Reporting to the General Manager, you'll take full ownership of day-to-day moulding operations, ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable running of all production activities. You'll combine strong technical expertise with confident people leadership, delivering high-quality output, minimising scrap, and driving continuous improvement across the plant.
This is an influential and hands-on role that plays a central part in ensuring customer satisfaction, compliance, and long-term operational success.
Key Responsibilities Production & Performance - Oversee daily injection moulding operations, ensuring output targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are consistently achieved.
- Manage workforce planning, training, and deployment to maximise productivity.
- Monitor machine performance and drive improvements in OEE, cycle times and scrap reduction.
Technical Leadership - Conduct minor tooling repairs and adjustments, including hot runner systems, ensuring uninterrupted production.
- Liaise with external tooling partners for major maintenance activity.
- Lead troubleshooting of moulding, tooling and automation issues, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement - Standardise moulding parameters, operating procedures, and best practice across the cell.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to enhance quality, reliability and cost efficiency.
- Support new product introductions, trials and validations in partnership with tooling and design teams.
Quality, Safety & Compliance - Ensure full compliance with BRC standards, quality systems, hygiene requirements and company processes.
- Drive a proactive health & safety culture, ensuring correct procedures, PPE, and working practices are followed at all times.
- Maintain clear and accurate records in line with internal auditing and operational reporting requirements.
Collaboration & Communication - Work closely with Quality, Supply Chain, Sales and Customer Service teams to support material planning, product requirements and customer expectations.
- Provide technical insight to internal stakeholders, ensuring issues are raised, communicated and resolved quickly.
What We're Looking For We're seeking a driven and technically strong manufacturing leader with:
- Proven experience in injection moulding process management
- Strong understanding of tooling, moulding parameters and hot runner systems
- A track record of improving OEE, reducing scrap and leading CI activity
- Confident leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach and develop teams
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities
