Wolviston Management Services are delighted to be supporting our client in the search for an experienced
HGV Container Driver to join their established transport operation based in Teesside.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional and reliable driver with proven container experience to become part of a well-organised and safety-focused logistics team, operating across ports and customer sites throughout the North East and wider UK.
About the Role As an HGV Container Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of shipping containers between ports, depots, and customer locations. Working day shifts, you will ensure deliveries are completed on time, paperwork is accurate, and vehicles are maintained to the highest standards.
This role requires previous container haulage experience and a strong understanding of port procedures.
Key Responsibilities - Collection and delivery of shipping containers to and from port facilities and customer sites
- Ensuring loads are secured correctly and transported in line with safety regulations
- Completing all relevant delivery documentation accurately
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects promptly
- Maintaining compliance with Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
- Representing the business professionally when liaising with customers and port authorities
Candidate Requirements - Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Proven container haulage experience (essential)
- Valid CPC qualification
- Valid Digital Tachograph card
- No more than 6 penalty points
- No DD, DR or IN10 endorsements
- Strong knowledge of driver hours and road transport legislation
- Good communication skills and a professional approach
