Support records management, document control and data privacy compliance

Wolviston Management Services is proud to be working in partnership with Tioxide to recruit a Records and Data Privacy Compliance Officer at Teesside.

This is a key compliance and information management role where you will support the business by delivering effective records management, document control and data privacy activities. You will help ensure information is managed consistently, securely and in line with legal, regulatory and internal standards.

You will work with colleagues across the UK business, providing practical guidance on records, documents and data handling, while maintaining systems, supporting audits and helping employees understand their responsibilities.

What you'll be doing
You will:
  • Administer and maintain the records management system, ensuring records are accurate, complete and accessible to authorised users.
  • Support classification, storage, retrieval, retention and disposal of business records.
  • Apply statutory retention schedules and support secure disposal of records.
  • Embed consistent records management practices across the business.
  • Ensure controlled documents are current, approved and available to the right users.
  • Support teams with document control processes and good practice.
  • Remove or archive obsolete documentation in line with retention rules.
  • Act as a point of contact for day-to-day data privacy queries, escalating where required.
  • Support data access requests, audits and information requests by helping locate, secure and manage records.
  • Raise awareness of data privacy obligations across the business.
  • Assist with internal or external audits by providing documentation, records and evidence.
  • Help develop and maintain procedures, guidance and templates for records, documents and data handling.
  • Build positive relationships with colleagues and provide clear, practical advice.
Candidate requirements
We welcome applications from people who have:
  • Experience in records management, document control, information governance, data handling or a related compliance role.
  • Practical understanding of data protection principles and records retention.
  • Experience using electronic document and records management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to managing information.
  • Confidence working independently, with good judgement on when to escalate.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and support different stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain requirements clearly.
  • Experience supporting audits or compliance activities would be beneficial.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Power Apps or similar systems would be welcomed.
  • A commitment to confidentiality, ethical working, inclusion and high standards.

We know people gain skills in different ways. You do not need to meet every point above to apply. If this role interests you and you believe you could make a positive contribution, we would welcome your application.

Why join Tioxide?
Join Tioxide in a role where your organisation, judgement and attention to detail will help protect information, strengthen compliance and support consistent ways of working across the business. You will work with a wide range of colleagues and play a visible part in improving records, document control and data privacy practices.

Diversity and inclusion
Tioxide is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, valued and able to contribute. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences, including people from groups currently under-represented in compliance, information governance, business services and manufacturing support roles.
