Electrical Engineer

Location: Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire

Contract Type: Permanent / Full Time

Our client is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems across multiple assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as Electrical Subject Matter Expert across site operations and projects
  • Lead electrical design and review activities for new installations and modifications
  • Develop HV switching programmes and oversee electrical safety compliance
  • Support commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities
  • Conduct electrical studies including load flow, fault level, and protection grading
  • Ensure compliance with ATEX, DSEAR, and UK electrical regulations
Requirements:
  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards
  • CompEx (Ex01–04 essential; Ex12 desirable)
  • Experience within COMAH, oil & gas, or chemical sectors
  • Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems and hazardous area equipment
  • Experience in roles such as Authorised Person or Authorising Engineer
