Wolviston Management Services are supporting a leading facilities management provider in the recruitment of a Mechanical Maintenance Operative to join their team within a healthcare environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer looking for a secure role, with the potential to be taken on permanently for the right candidate.
 
The Role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Operative, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and minor installation works across a busy healthcare site.
You will play a vital role in ensuring all mechanical building services are maintained safely, efficiently and in line with statutory compliance and operational standards.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical building services
  • Perform fault finding, repairs and minor installation works
  • Maintain systems including DHW, LPHW, CHW and ventilation
  • Support pipe fitting and general mechanical maintenance tasks
  • Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with H&S and infection control procedures
  • Liaise with on-site departments to minimise disruption
  • Maintain accurate job records and documentation
  • Undertake risk assessments and follow safe working practices
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other trades
  • Participate in on-call rota and respond to out-of-hours issues
About You

We're looking for a reliable and skilled engineer with a strong background in mechanical maintenance within a similar environment.

Essential requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Services (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience within a maintenance environment
  • Experience working with mechanical systems including DHW, LPHW, CHW and ventilation
  • Strong fault-finding and repair skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
Desirable:
  • Experience with steam systems
  • Previous pipe fitting experience
Additional Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS is essential
  • PPE will be provided
  • Willingness to join the out-of-hours call-out rota (additional payment applies)
    • 1 in 5 rotation
    • Monday to Sunday
    • 22:00 - 06:00
