General Operative Location: Teesside

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join our clients team at a busy processing plant in Teesside. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily plant operations, maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping, and production efficiency.
This is a hands-on role requiring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to site safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the operation and monitoring, processing and packaging equipment.
  • Carry out general production and labouring duties as required.
  • Load, unload, and move materials safely around the site.
  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards across the plant.
  • Perform routine inspections and report any faults, defects, or safety concerns.
  • Support maintenance activities and shutdown operations when required.
  • Follow site procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet production targets.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience in an industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices.
  • Ability to undertake manual handling and physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A valid Site Safety Passport (CCNSG Safety Passport or equivalent).
  • Flexible approach to work and shift patterns where required.
Desirable Requirements
  • Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence and previous FLT operating experience.
  • Experience working within a process plant, chemical, manufacturing, or bulk materials environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Please note: A valid Site Safety Passport is required for this position. Holding a current FLT licence is highly advantageous and will be viewed favourably during the selection process.
