Wolviston Management Services is delighted to be supporting our client with the recruitment of a Control & Automation Engineer to join their Process Engineering & Automation team at their Teesside facilities.

This is an excellent permanent opportunity for an experienced Control, Automation, Instrumentation or Process Engineer to join a major process manufacturing organisation, offering a highly competitive salary alongside an exceptional benefits package.

The Role
Working across complex petrochemical facilities on Teesside, you will provide Control Engineering expertise to Operations teams and play a key role in improving plant safety, reliability, efficiency and performance.

You will lead the development and implementation of control strategies across a range of industrial automation systems, including PLC, SIS and DCS, while supporting Advanced Process Control schemes and critical manufacturing information systems.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing specialist Control Engineering support and complex troubleshooting
  • Developing and implementing control strategies to improve plant performance
  • Analysing plant data to identify opportunities to improve safety, capacity, reliability and efficiency
  • Supporting plant optimisation and performance assurance
  • Leading reliability investigations relating to process and control issues
  • Managing Programmable Electronic Systems (PES) change control
  • Working closely with DCS, Instrument/Electrical and OT Infrastructure Engineers
  • Supporting the implementation of Automation Security protocols
  • Sharing and adopting best practice through internal and external technical networks
About You
Ideally, you will hold a degree in Process Engineering, Instrumentation, Control Engineering or a related discipline. Alternatively, applications are welcomed from candidates with a relevant trade qualification, such as an Instrument Apprenticeship, combined with significant Process Control experience.

Experience or knowledge of some of the following would be particularly beneficial:

  • Honeywell Experion DCS
  • Siemens S7 / Rockwell PLCs
  • Schneider Triconex SIS
  • Sella Controls HIMA systems
  • Emerson DeltaV DCS / SIS
  • AspenTech advanced control and information management products
You don't necessarily need experience across every system listed; we're particularly interested in candidates with a strong Control & Automation background gained within a process, petrochemical, chemical or similarly complex industrial environment.

Excellent Benefits
Alongside a competitive salary within the petrochemical sector, the package includes:
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Excellent pension - 17% employer contribution
  • 26 days' annual leave plus 8 public holidays
  • Private health insurance
  • BUPA dental cover
Interested?
If you're an experienced Control & Automation professional looking for a long-term permanent opportunity with an excellent salary and benefits package, we'd be very interested in hearing from you.
