The Opportunity
Wolviston Management Services are delighted to be supporting our client, a highly respected and established organisation specialising in advanced manufacturing for the aerospace, defence and marine industries, in the recruitment of an experienced Quality Inspector to join their growing Quality team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative manufacturing business operating from a state-of-the-art facility in North Yorkshire, delivering complex, high-performance composite components and assemblies for some of the world's leading organisations.
Working within a precision-driven manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality, safety and customer specifications throughout the manufacturing process.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience in quality inspection, dimensional measurement and manufacturing, ideally within composites, aerospace, defence or other precision engineering environments.

The Role
As Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out inspection, measurement and testing activities throughout the manufacturing process, from incoming goods through to final inspection and dispatch.
Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams, you will ensure that all products meet the required technical specifications, quality standards and customer expectations.
You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support quality documentation and assist in maintaining the organisation's high standards of manufacturing excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out visual and dimensional inspections of manufactured components and assemblies.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process, including goods-in, in-process and final inspection.
  • Perform technical measurement activities using inspection equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and Faro Arms.
  • Undertake product testing activities to verify compliance with technical specifications and quality requirements.
  • Accurately complete inspection reports, job cards and associated quality documentation.
  • Ensure products meet customer requirements, manufacturing specifications and relevant quality standards.
  • Identify, report and support the resolution of quality issues and non-conformances.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering and other departments to investigate and resolve quality concerns.
  • Support the introduction of new inspection techniques, measurement methods and quality processes.
  • Assist with quality audits, accreditation requirements and ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving product quality, manufacturing efficiency and operational performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues, including assisting with training and skills development.
  • Ensure all inspection and testing activities are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
What We're Looking For
We are keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
  • Previous experience in a Quality Inspector or Quality Control position within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience carrying out visual and dimensional inspections of manufactured components.
  • Knowledge of quality control processes, inspection techniques and testing procedures.
  • Experience working within a structured, process-driven production environment.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment and inspection tools accurately.
  • Experience using CMM equipment and Faro Arms would be highly beneficial.
  • Previous experience working with composite materials would be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions, procedures and manufacturing specifications.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider manufacturing team.
Candidates from aerospace, defence, composites, precision engineering or other high-quality manufacturing environments are particularly encouraged to apply.
