Process Coordinator (Operations & Maintenance)

The Opportunity
Wolviston Management Services are delighted to be supporting a well-established industrial organisation in the appointment of an experienced Process Coordinator (Operations & Maintenance).

This is an excellent opportunity for a safety-focused professional with a strong background in industrial operations, maintenance coordination and Permit to Work (PTW) systems.

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating operational and maintenance activities across site, ensuring work is planned, authorised and executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with site procedures and regulatory requirements.

Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Production teams, this is a varied and responsible position with a particular focus on permit control, process isolations, maintenance planning and continuous improvement.

The Role
As Process Coordinator, you will:
  • Manage, issue and monitor the site's Permit to Work (PTW) system, ensuring all activities comply with site safety procedures.
  • Review and authorise permits, ensuring appropriate risk assessments, safety documentation and isolation requirements are in place.
  • Coordinate operational and maintenance activities to ensure safe execution and minimise disruption to production.
  • Liaise with Operations, Engineering and Maintenance teams to plan and schedule maintenance work effectively.
  • Define, document and coordinate process isolations required for planned maintenance activities.
  • Ensure isolations are correctly implemented, maintained and removed in accordance with site procedures.
  • Support the planning and coordination of maintenance activities during shutdowns, turnarounds and planned outages.
  • Review and update shutdown procedures, job safety analyses, maintenance documentation and start-up check sheets.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) standards.
  • Participate in site safety audits, inspections, incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Support site improvement projects aimed at enhancing plant reliability, operational efficiency and safety performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve work control processes, maintenance effectiveness and overall site performance.
About You
We are looking for an organised, proactive and safety-conscious individual with experience working in a manufacturing, chemical processing, petrochemical or heavy industrial environment.
You will ideally have:
  • Previous experience in an Operations, Process Technician, Maintenance Coordinator or similar industrial role.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of Permit to Work systems and safe systems of work.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance activities within an operational industrial environment.
  • A good understanding of process isolations, lock-out/tag-out procedures and risk assessments.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple activities and coordinate effectively with different departments.
  • A proactive approach to health, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a busy operational environment.
Experience working within a COMAH-regulated or high-hazard environment, together with involvement in shutdowns, outages or turnaround activities, would be particularly advantageous.

A Level 3 qualification in Engineering, Process Operations, Manufacturing or a related technical discipline would also be beneficial.

Why Apply?
This is an excellent opportunity to take on a key coordination role within a busy industrial environment, contributing directly to site safety, maintenance effectiveness and operational reliability.
You will work alongside experienced operational and engineering teams, with the opportunity to support continuous improvement initiatives and play an important part in maintaining safe and efficient plant operations.
